Rewind, Reflect, Rethink, Revalue and Reposition; 5R’s
The ongoing Covid virus has resulted in threatening our lives in its invisible avatar. Invisible in a way that one fears of one’s own self, making us wonder how, when, where and whether it may invade us silently. Till then, we are putting ourselves through tough regimes of hygiene, cautiously washing hands multiple times, cleaning our homes and even sanitizing each and everything we touch. That is the advisory from the government and all around us that we need to stay out of its way. The deadly carrier is invisible, powerful and damaging yet it is so tiny. It has sent all human beings to their own shell and made us to sit and contemplate what could have gone wrong. It has deactivated our programed minds, made us inactive and, in a way taught us to sit and relax! May be the mother nature and universe has played its part to declutter herself from the noise, pollution and madness created by the human race. It is forcible challenge thrown to mankind by the mother nature, as if human race is getting punished for its own misdeeds.
The day before the news about corona virus broke out, life was celebrative, plans were drawn for future, trips were on cards, hardly knowing that something totally different and least thought about what was coming our way, forcing us to pause, rewind, rethink, reflect, revalue and reposition! The official clamp down for staying at home and staying safe is one of the first kind seen in this life. It has shifted us on to restructuring platform to withstand the fear of long homestays, safety and of basic needs. Family safety within the four walls has become the foremost thought process. Stopping domestic help and essential services, which one was so used to, has been curtailed down to prevent virus entering our homes. Each and every person is coming to these terms as fast as they can.
Covid situation, one can laugh in its lighter vein, has devalued the power of humans and with its intensity growing exponentially, has scared the entire human race! It is time to pause and time to rethink!
What if this Covid storm is making us to rethink thru various perspectives. May be it has opened us to new ideas… innumerable persons are working from home, students from all over universities are attending classes from home, people in their varied jobs, from lowest position to the highest ones, are made to sit back and solve their world problems remotely through the click of the button! Is this a new trend that may evolve and become more practical in this rat race? Is this going to be a new norm? Only time will tell! It is time to reflect!
The Gods have taken time off too!! All temples, mosques, churches and any other mass gathering places are shut down! The saints, priests, moulvies and other high intellects, have been put to test for their ability to manage this situation. We respect all this and understand the same but do we? As we say all good times come after all bad times and this too shall pass! Amen!!
Reevaluate and revalue!
After all this, there seems to be hope! The mother nature still assures us of all good times! As I wake up, I see flowers blooming with best of colours, trees which had strewn down its dried leaves, are once again showing green hues; birds are seen playing and flying together in flocks and chirping at their highest pitch; peacocks venturing into areas, and in few days of closure, where they would never dare. All of them surely wondering as to what changed! At homes, families are united, forcefully though but bonding and sharing is happening and also a growing concern to keep each other safe! It gets us back to reevaluate our value system of togetherness, of sharing and making others at ease whether old or the young!
This tiny dangerous virus has certainly got us back to our roots as a family, as friends, or as a nation! Prime minister’s call to unite us together through a simple five minutes community gratitude, exemplified by the show of mass clapping from each one of us, got us further together and made us look at everything through one single window view, a view of oneness! It taught us, after a long time, that a small gesture can be as powerful as any major show of unity!
Would end by saying that let us reposition ourselves and set the clock for what can be done differently in the future. This too shall pass and if we are lucky to get the time in future, let us plan to relax and reset our clocks, while we are at home for now!!

This is great thought & in fact a reality of time , we need to relook at our priorities & an opportunity to revisit our plans, Man proposes God disposes is apt here & as mentioned by U , the nature has brought us more closer even if forcibly & strengthen our bonds, I am making a point to atleast talk to 2-3 friends every day just to check their welfare & cheer up in this challenging time,
Keep writing as this is one way to stress buster & same for us to read through,
Nice….. The trick is to slow down and reposition ourselves after the threat is over so that nature does not have to yield its force just again…..
Thanks, to post columns in these tough times is a great service to humanity, God bless us all , Regards
Thank you all
